As we step into the first month of summer, the island starts to feel extra playful. School is out, the days are long, and you will find family friendly fun all across Maui, from community festivals and outdoor movie nights to live music, farmers markets, and
kid friendly events that make summer vacations feel easy.
This season also comes with a few meaningful reminders of what Maui is building toward. Habitat for Humanity Maui
recently celebrated the completion of its first Lahaina home rebuild, a hopeful milestone as families are returning to their community. The County of Maui also received the 2026 Community Resilience Leadership Award, recognizing ongoing work to strengthen preparedness and recovery after the wildfires and recent storms. And after the monk seal incident that made national headlines, it is a good time to remember that caring for Maui also means respecting Hawaiʻi’s wildlife, especially our
protected and endangered species.
We are grateful you are here, and we hope this month’s updates help you plan a summer visit that feels joyful, thoughtful, and full of
aloha.
Safe Travels,
Tiffany
