Aloha, May! 🌺
May is one of our favorite months on Maui—Spring Breakers have headed home, summer crowds haven’t yet arrived, and the weather hits that perfect sweet spot. If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, now is an ideal time to visit the Valley Isle.
May 1st marks Lei Day in Hawai‘i, a cherished celebration of Hawaiian culture and the spirit of aloha. Established in 1927, Lei Day honors the tradition of lei-making, with each island represented by its unique flower and color. Maui’s designated flower for Lei Day is the lokelani, or pink damask rose,
and its associated color is pink. Typical Lei Day festivities include lei-making competitions, hula performances, and the crowning of Lei Day royalty.
In Lahaina, recovery

Meanwhile, wildfire safety legislation is advancing, aiming to strengthen prevention, education, and emergency response across the state.
