We love this time of year on Maui. September brings a softer rhythm to the island. Fewer crowds, cooler breezes, and a chance to slow down after the busy summer season.
As we come out of August, we also carry with us the weight and hope of the two-year anniversary of the Lahaina wildfires. The day was marked with reflection, honoring both the deep losses and the resilience of our community. Recovery is still ongoing.
Nearly 40% of displaced families remain without permanent housing, but there are encouraging signs with hundreds of new homes underway.
Visitor arrivals to Maui are steadily
rising too, up more than 11% from last year, and visitor spending continues to grow, helping local businesses get back to thriving. Together, these steps show that Maui is healing, moving forward, and welcoming travelers in ways that support both the island and its people. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the latest updates and happenings on Maui.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Safe Travels,
